Memorable Places

 

Special places followed Donald around throughout his life, and some he told me in an interview.

"Blacks Harbor was a memorable one," he says. This is the town where he worked as one of the only doctors, and practically everyone was dirt poor. There were even times when patients asked for him to pull their teeth(even though that was not his specialty) and some even paid him in potatoes.

Another memorable place or location was his childhood town, Chipman. After his father passed away, his mother continued to be the mainstay of the nine kids. But after some moved out(including Donald) she opened a business that continued to be the Chipman general store for years to come. It was a great reminder of him of his family.
