Family and Work...The Hard Balance

However, as much as Donald loved his profession, it also took a large toll on his family life. He and his wife, Morag, had four children, making it difficult for Donald to balance his work life and family time. Countless times, work would interrupt bondings at home. But when it came calling, he wasn't about to miss a birth.

"He wasn't around much, but when he was, Dad certainly made the most of it," recalls Allison Murray, Donald's youngest daughter and my mother. She talked mostly of the trips or vacations they would occasionally take and how she enjoyed that quality time with her father.

"But after those trips, back to work he went!"
